The Eaton Award


J. Lloyd Eaton Lifetime Achievement Award in Science Fiction

The J. Lloyd Eaton Lifetime Achievement Award in Science Fiction is awarded to those who have contributions of lasting significance to the field. Science fiction icons Ray Bradbury and Frederik Pohl were the first and second recipients in 2008 and 2009, respectively. At the 2011 conference, the 2010 and 2011 awards will be presented.

Samuel R. Delany is the recipient of the 2010 award. The award for 2011 will be given to Harlan Ellison.

The awards will be presented at the Plenary Session on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at which  Mr. Ellison will be in attendance. Mr. Delany will be represented by the scholar Carl Freedman.
